Day 16 – Bothell, WA
From my standpoint, not a very exciting day. Maybe just as well, with all the activity and excitement I’ve had recently. I guess the high point of the day was a walk in the woodsy park this morning with Don, same place we went yesterday. I like it ‘cause it’s so different from the places we usually go walking in, with lots of trees and tall bushes, and things that smell different from anything I’m used to. And there’s a big grassy area we go to on the way back, where I can do some running if I feel like it, like I did today. It’s not a real long walk, either, so I don’t get too tired near the end.
Shortly after we came back from our walk, it was lunch time, and I got my usual goodies. We all loaded into the truck then, along with some more laundry, and headed off for Gary’s place. Gary was doing some studying (golf on TV), but he agreed to keep me with him while Geri and Don went off to do some touristy thing. So I had a very quiet afternoon for a change while Gary studied (golf). Later in the afternoon, he took off to go to someone’s birthday party, while I continued catching up on my napping.
Geri and Don got back around five, and told me about the museum they had been to. It was located in Seattle in Pioneer Square, and was dedicated to telling the story of the Klondike Gold Rush. They said that it was very well done, with loads of interesting exhibits and personal stories of people who took part in the stampede. Geri and Don were particularly interested in the stories concerning Skagway, Alaska, a little coastal town they visited some years ago on a cruise. They said the pictures of the town back in the 1890’s don’t look much different from the way it does now.
I got my dinner, and they went down to Ezelle’s to get some of their favorite fried chicken. Gary came home, they all ate chicken, I hardly got a scrap, and we went back to the coach. Oh, well, every day doesn’t have to be exciting; I don’t think I could take it, anyway. G’night, all.
